This is just a politics of convenience.
1. It conveniently changes his image to the Filipinos who were largely divided over him and his family at first.
2. Convenient concessions from the Americans. Syempre lahat may kapalit. T*nga ka kung di mo alam yan.
3. And vice-versa naman the Americans are able to conveniently return to the Philippines (of course for their own agenda against China).
No average Filipino will benefit from this. The Americans and the Marcoses will.

I am a American so if I tell the Philippines to be careful when dealing with the US under this current administration, they need to listen. The latest request by the US is for the Philippines to accept Afghan refugees. Will they be given jobs, free housing, money over the impoverished Filipino? Then you have the No one left behind school fiasco. The Philippines are now experiencing the same negative effects of that program. The US is on a self destruction path. Do not follow them. Protect your sovereignty.

As an American, this coming from the current administration needs to be considered meaningless. Because of Biden, we have the Russian invasion of Ukraine that happened. Even if I detest Trump, the invasion of Ukraine would not have happened if Trump was still in office.
