I accidentally deleted a comment (something I almost never do) from someone who sold their spider man coin for double what they paid. If that was you, sorry, hit me again. My reply is simple, and I gave it in the video at 08:01. Cheers!

There's a big difference between stacking and collecting. It can be easy for some folks to fall into collecting and almost not realise it. Personally I like both, but I go out of my way to not convince myself that I'm stacking when I want something pretty that's impractical. Thanks as always!

Moral of the story…Dealers will happily charge you extra for nicer stuff then pay spot to buy it back.

I love the Aztec calendar silver. Especially the 5oz rounds. But i don't buy them thinking they are the same thing as my 10 bars that i get for stacking, i get them as a hobby for enjoyment.

I agree with your list however I knew this going in due to one of the past old videos you did regarding this matter. Good video as always

I've bought semi-numismatic silver for the little ones to appeal to their interests...Queen's Beasts; Canadian wildlife coins; Perth Mint Lunars, Kooks, and Koalas; even Zombucks and Emoji rounds...but I bought at the time of production for the lowest premiums possible, and I know that if they're ever sold, it'll probably be for the melt price. They served their purpose in making saving fun, and this type of silver gives way to their first 1/10 oz AGE tube we work on together.

Thanks, I agree. I'm often tempted to stray from this but rarely succumb.

Graded coins have gotten way to expensive so I keep mine raw.

Got a little bit of everything.
Narrowed it down to 3.
ASE, Britannia's, and a generic round.
No more slabs, no more proofs, just tubes.

I largely agree with your assessment, and I'm happy to report that I don't buy any of these types of Gold & Silver. I stick to fractional 22k Gold coins, Eagles & Krugerrands, and I limit myself to 1 ounce as the maximum size for any Silver coins, rounds, or bars that I purchase. I do these things mostly to preserve my flexibility and to give myself the largest universe of possible buyers when I go to sell them. I wish more people would put as much thought into their stacking as you did in this video. It would save them from a mountain of costly mistakes. Having said that, I do often tell people to set themselves a milestone goal to reach with their metals. Once they've met this goal, I think it's much more allowable to relax a bit and buy a few things that you like or are interested in vs just for weight or a particular stacking strategy. It's always important to regularly buy some things that you have no feeling for, as those will be the easiest for you to let go, but it doesn't mean that you can't eventually indulge your collecting side or your dragon loving side. Great video!

Only about 10% of my stack's dollar value is in "collectible" bullion, but that's because I mostly just buy standard government minted coins like ASEs and Buffaloes. Doesn't mean I won't occasionally buy something cool and collectible like my 1oz reverse proof gold Libertad (most beautiful coin ever made 😉) or my 1KG Queen's Beast silver completer coin, just means I mostly focus on bullion with moderate premiums and that's easy to resell in an emergency, should one arise.

1. Slabbed coins. (paying for fancy plastic holder and identification label)
2. Proof coins. (paying for proof shine from mint)
3. Collectable or gimmick series silver coins. (paying for inferred scarcity / likeability)
4. Chinese gold series coins. (only worth actual weight in gold)
5. Large bars. (harder to move / sell / store / carry)

Silver has been a horrific investment of a longer period of time. On January 18, 1980, silver reached an all-time high price of $49.45/troy ounce. This surge was largely due to the Hunt brothers, who attempted to corner the silver market by buying large amounts of silver and silver futures contracts, consequently driving up the demand and spot price of the precious metal. Also, silver is NOT a hedge for inflation…

I usually stay disciplined and buy my AGBs. But I did stray this year a bit. I don’t consider the liberty high relief coins much of a risk, but I fell for the new Spanish stallion coin. It’s beautiful! At 10% over spot, i though a risk worth taking

Agree, but would reinforce the slabbed bullion position with never, ever, ever, ever pay the slightest premium for slabbed bullion graded less than MS-70.

You did good here. I stack with weight and purity in mind.
Anything else is because I love the way it looks and dont mind the price.
