Interesting, I interpreted both those scenes rather differently. Firstly, I don't think she forgives Jinx. Rather, she decides to value her love for Vi over her feelings toward Jinx. She doesn't hate her anymore, and she despises what her hatred has turned her into, but she also doesn't forgive Jix. So while she herself cannot actively forgive Jinx, evidenced by HER not letting Jinx go, she's able to let Vi do so.

And in the argument with Vi beforehand, Vi reads her to filth for her actions the past few months (rightfully so), but, importantly... Vi is NOT morally right in this argument, at least regarding Jinx. By all accounts, Jinx shouldn't simply be let go. It's understandable of course that Vi wants her sister freed, but from a rational perspective... letting loose an individual who has murdered dozens, if not more, and who has a history of violent mental instability, is against every notion of justice a society stands for, whether that be retributive, rehabilitative, or utilitarian. But Caitlyn never uses the strongest weapon in her arsenal-- arguing exactly that point (idk where you got the idea that she tried to manipulate Vi and use this argument... she notably stayed AWAY from it, actually). Instead, she lets the argument circle around a lack of "trust" in their plan, and her alliance with Ambessa-- her OWN misdeeds.

Caitlyn doesn't put up much of a fight, even when she has a very valid argument to make, showing her exhaustion and overwhelming sense of guilt over her own actions.

Caitlyn didn't forgive Jinx. She said she didn't the energy to hate her anymore. That her hatred as driven her to acts she would have never committed normally.

She didn't forgive her, she just decided to let her revenge against her go. As she said, she was tired of hating her, and she also saw what it was costing her and she didn't like who she had become because of it.

I think Jinx saying "I didn't know your mom was there." played a part as well. I think Cait understood that that was as close to an "I'm sorry" as Jinx would ever get which I think is why Cait went to talk to jinx in the first place, to try to get something resembling an apology out of her.

You had me until you said Caitlyn was manipulating Vi. I don't think she was, i think she was just expressing how she felt and acknowledging she F'd up.

"Why Did Caitlyn Forgive Jinx?"

Jinx: It was an accident

Caitlyn: oh, ok lol

Like all these other comments, I don't think she did. She realized it was a choice between having Jinx and Vi, and she chose love over revenge.

Before I even watch the vid

She forgave jinx because... She loved Vi then she could hate Jinx.

And this is why I love Cait, because she's always there for Vi and Vi has nothing in her life, the only person she has ever loved is Cait. And after months Cait realised that.

I think over those months of breakup, she thought more about missing vi then killing jinx, so love outweighed hate. And that right there is special.

My first reaction to the title is just: she didn’t, she’s just not as bloodthirsty on revenge against her

I don't think it's about forgiveness. Caitlyn's obsession with punishing Jinx put a wedge between her and Vi. She regrets the decisions she made to get her to that point, and realizes she can't ever really be with Vi if she doesn't let go of her vendetta against Jinx.

Now do a video on how Silco's guardianship taught Jinx to inadvertently train Isha to be a child soldier.

She might forgive but I doubt she’ll forget

I don't think she ever did. There's a difference between "I forgive you" and "I'm tired of hating you." See Miles Morales and Mr Negative in Insomniac Spider-Man 2.

That's part of the reason Jinx faked her death: she new her presence in either Piltover or Zaun would be the biggest obstacle between Caitlyn and Vi, so she removed herself from the equation.

And in the end, Caitlyn is still looking for her, examining the schematics for the Hex Gates to see if there was any chance Jinx was still out there somehow. But she decided to give up on the search for Vi's sake.

Caitlyn and Jinx never made amends for what they did to each other, but they both loved Vi and each made a sacrifice for her sake.

Its interesting, the show take minor time in this detail, but the imperfection its the hole can fig with a good interpretations from the audience.
1 Caytlin accept her mistakes
2 Caytlin see hate Jinx its like hate the rain, Jinx don't have guilty because is insane that can make Caitlyn down more deep in hate.
3 Caytlin needs Vi forgives her, is empty, unhappy and make a Jinx and opportunity make a oportunity for Vi forgive her.
4 Caytlin want to breake the cycle like Jinx do to, so much hate its tired for all.
5 Caytlin its sad and tired for this personall war against Jinx, its not a feel, its obvius for her Jinx has a personall hate against her for steal the hearth of Vi, from learn her name. Jinx try to kill her 3 times even close to Vi, Jinx shoot both hers, thanks "boy savior".
If Jinx kill her for send a Message to Piltover just blow up her home with her inside and thats all.
If Jinx Kill her for hate to Enforcer just Shoot her in the first oportunity and left death in his bathroom.
Butt Jinx's kidnapped her, tied to a chair and torture emiotionality because want Vi look her die o Vi decide kill her.
Caytlin want proof Vi she is not like Jinx, its like her says "its your desition me or her, nobody needs die". I think this is the most certain

Dang, I didn't even realize how similar those two scenes were. Both happen in the same room, start with Cait and Maddie talking about an enemy, someone barges in and then Cait dismisses Maddie to have a one on one talk with them (makes me wonder if Maddie stayed to listen to the other one too lol), both talks are even about someone's imprisonment... Ambessa was trying to convince Cait to arrest the Jinxer and Vi was trying to convince her to free Jinx.

At the end they also had the opposite effect on Cait, on the first scene Ambessa managed to nurture her hatred for Jinx enough for Cait to go against her own moral compass and allow the arrest, in this second one Vi made her question what her hatred had done to her enough for Cait to reflect on herself and allow Jinx's escape.

I agree with most points except her manipulating Vi. I think Cait genuinely wanted to wait for Vi to wake up to help her make a sound decision that wouldn’t make things worse for either nation bc ultimately this is HER family issue & she already lost Vi once by letting her vengeful emotions control her. She literally said the girl surrendered & ambessa’s troops locked her up before she could even make a decision abt it. She also realized imprisoning Jinx STILL didnt prevent the war from escalating like she’d hoped, not to mention Jinx literally saved her life which made it hard to hate her anymore. Plus she knows her woman & accepts that she’s always gonna fight for those she loves right or wrong even if it kills her. So she cant say she loves Vi while putting her sister in the same circumstances that Vi went thru (regardless of how justified it was) which is why she was already planning a way to give Vi the opening to release her. Ultimately it all ties into the overarching themes of the show: the beauty in the complexities of humanity & ending the cycle of violence by choosing love.

Before even watching the video I have to disagree with the title. Caitlyn didn't forgive Jinx; just like Jinx didn't apologize for blowing up the council. With Jinx she was simply telling Caitlyn that what she did wasn't personal, she didn't know her mom was in there, but at the same time letting her know that even if she knew her mom was in there that probably wouldn't have changed the outcome. Likewise Caitlyn is letting Jinx know that she still doesn't like her but she's tired of actively hating her because it's causing her a great deal of stress and causing her to do things she normally wouldn't. Not only that but her active hated towards Jinx drives a wedge between her and VI which she doesn't want. So I took their conversation to be one of letting go. They won't forget what they've done to each other and they are definitely not forgiving one another but instead are choosing to ignore each other...mostly for VI's sake. Ha. But they will never be friends because of the bad blood between them. They are just agreeing to stop this game of cat and mouse so they can both go on with their lives. It's a truce!

Okay now I'll watch your video. :)

Very good analysis, I would love to see a video on why Jinx faked her death, as Cait ends up realizing investigating the HexGate blueprints focusing on Air vents, Silco telling Jinx to Walk Away, Ekko saying it’s never too late to build something new. Leave a few things behind. There was a lot of foreshadowing that Jinx was going to leave. Hell Jinx pretty much tells Vi right before fighting Warwick “ still don’t get it huh Sis I’m Always With You, Even WHEN WE’RE WORLDS APART. Vi turns her head towards Jinx with an expression as if she was thinking what do you mean WHEN WE’RE WORLDS APART. Was it a way to be completely sure to break the cycle for Jinx, to just take off so Vi can move on without Jinx in her life?.

Cait has not forgiven Jinx. Cait loves Vi and knows that she will try to free Jinx. Following the principle of "if you love someone, give them freedom", Cait gives them the opportunity to make this choice and removes the guards. She chooses Vi, chooses love. Additionally, Cait no longer has the strength for revenge and wants Jinx to disappear from her life once and for all.

Overall, releasing such a dangerous and unstable criminal as Jinx deserves condemnation! Jinx does not deserve any forgiveness. She did not seek it at all and is one of the few who is not responsible for her actions (murdering dozens of people, including Ekko's friends and let's remember that it was because of what Cait did that she strayed from the path of righteousness).
