Alien Isolation - Nightmare mode - Gas Containers are awesome

Here is a pretty good example of using the stuff around you, early in the game, no flamethrower and not enough parts to craft a Molotov, yet if you shoot those red gas bottles at the right moment it will either serve as a distraction or save you. This was so tight, I was sure I was dead.

I love how the door opens just before you approach it. Perfect timing and a queue that an alert player would notice meant that this was happening. I'd have screamed and died not even able to process a way out of the situation.

It’s only roughly 25% into the game but I found the San Cristobal mission to be the hardest in the entire game. Maybe the noise sensor was picking up the air conditioner humming in my room?? I died a ridiculous amount of times

I like to put a flare next to the gas container. When the alien shows up … boom

I didn't know about this?! Played tons of hours on Nightmare and using mods like Unpredictable Alien and I never knew, I wonder if this can kill humans

Now why didn't I think of that...it took me several tries to make it past this part, didn't help that the alien didn't actively seek out and attack the humans in the area unless they happened to be in between it and me.

I think none of us considered this an option, because we knew that regular firearms are useless against Xeno and shooting can cause more harm than good (e.g. attracting unwanted attention), so we just got used to playing hide and seek for the entire game (that is, until we get our hands on flamethrower and Molotov cocktail, but even then it's better to continue with hide&seek).
