Shame I didn't manage to get this in 2005 with the hordika

This came out in 2005? I never remembered seeing this character. Was she any good in the Rhotuka Spinner Challange game?

Sounds like you're thinking of the wrong year of spiders XD

I love the CCBS system, it is nice and sturdy, but can still make great sets and mocs.

I love the yellow. Brings me back to the days of the Slizers.

Breakout furno is my favorite protector

in the original bionicle series everyone in ga-koro (from what i gathered) was female...but then again Ga-koro doesn't technically exist in the bionicle reboot so...

This is a good protector but neat review. :)

"Was released in early 2005"? I know I'm not hearing things.

Other than that, nice job Eljay.

Man I loved 2005, I kinda wish Vakama didn't turn evil and capture most of the Protectors because OOC but the Skull Spider Horde was nice and it does suck that Sidorak, the Lord of Skull Spiders didn't do muc other than get crushed

But seriously, despite my obvious joking about that one flub up, it's a great review and now I'm kinda tempted to get the Protector of Water for some reason, of all of the Protectors that one appeals to me the most. Weird

I'd like to see a CCBS remake of the muaka and kane-ra sets.

Kivoda and vizuna are the coolest protectors

for people who don't like the CCBS system look it very sturdy and practically unbreakable and one problem with classic bionicle is the parts break TOO EASILY
and beside give it a try its a   good system to use

They should've put a bit more yellow in there if they wanted the turbines to flow, but I guess it's still a pretty solid set.

Activate flight mode! Oh, wait, no...

I don't mind the yellow turbines. I find they're balanced by the yellow spacers on the blaster and the Protector's eyes.

The protector of water is male but the protector of earth is female

She along with the protector of earth are my favorite protectors. Best color schemes, Earth has a cool chest blaster and water has the turbines. Plus blue is my favorite color...

I think I like the protectors better than the toa. Most of my MOC's tend to be small because I like the simple look of an unarmored/less armored set (which usually looks weird on taller sets). If I had this set, I might even remove the silver body armor to see how it looks. I would probably use it, the turbines, and the blaster as a protector version of adrenaline mode and keep them off during normal events.

I'm also surprised at how much the new building system has grown on me.

The one thing I like about each of the Protectors is that their weapons work better than most Bionicle blasters of the past. Now, keep in mind that I didn't really mind the whole "one melee weapon, one blaster" idea, but the blasters were either hit or miss, with the Squid Launcher being an example of a horrible miss. The blasters the Protectors use look like 2007's Cordak Blasters, but function a little bit better, as the Cordak Blasters were some of the best blasters in Bionicle's history. I also like the different ways the blasters are set up, with the Protector of Earth being my favorite in that regard. One con I do have with the Protectors is their masks. I understand why it would work from a story perspective, but in terms of sets, it's a little disappointing, but doesn't get in the way of my liking to these sets. :)
