How to make seam sealer! Easy!!! Seam sealing the Luxe Minipeak XL

Good morning Justin, so many goodies in this little 3-minute video. :) I never had any idea that you could use silicone and mineral spirits to seal a tent. I have used silicone for years and years and years. Wouldn't I have like two known that trick when I was canoeing the rivers. :) whoever gave you that advice about the squirrels and the mice was absolutely spot-on. I am trapping three times as many mice this year at the cabin and the squirrels are absolutely everywhere. I think it is because of the dry conditions we've had since early summer all of the babies have made it. But there is a good note to all of this because of the drought conditions in early June all of the chicks from partridge have made it also. This is going to be great year for bird hunting here in Maine.

That should work out just fine, I’ve applied that concoction to my Luna Solo and it works great ! I think all the critters are super active anticipating a rough winter ! See you soon ! Peace !

Would you recommend this method for canvas tents? I have a Tepui rooftop tent that I just did a mold remediation on, that needs a full reseal/waterproofing.

I got an old Criss Cross back out. I had a corner of the bed getting wet back when I put it away years ago. I determined that it was just the stitching on the rain fly that got me. I like my hot tent, but at 95+ degrees out, I just can't get a breeze in it.

I see there are different types of silicone caulk you can buy - like type 1 or 2... any difference?

How soon after applying do you wipe it down and would sealing both sides of the seam be overkill and not necessary.

I have minipaek xl also. Need to re seal before I go solo campin again, , had small leak last month.
I used the sealant that came with it but must have missed spot?
