"Οδύσσεια". Ο Δρόμος για την Ιθάκη
Θέατρο Όμμα Στούντιο (Ηράκλειο Κρήτης, Ελλάδα), Θέατρο Zid (Άμστερνταμ, Ολλανδία), Θέατρο Potlach (Φάρα Σαμπίνε, Ιταλία).
Μια διεθνής συμπαραγωγή με τρία θέατρα και δύο παραστάσεις με θέμα την "Οδύσσεια" του Ομήρου αλλά και την ανάγκη του ανθρώπου να επιστρέψει στη ρίζα του και την προσήλωσή του σε αυτό το στόχο.
Η παράσταση επιχορηγείται από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού.

Κυριακή 16 Ιουνίου στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ θεάτρου FLIPT (Festival Laboratorio Intercultural Di Pratiche Teatrali) που διοργανώνει το Θέατρο Πότλατζ στην πόλη Φάρα Σαμπίνε της Ιταλίας
και Παρασκευή 21, Σάββατο 22 και Κυριακή 23 Ιουνίου στο Άμστερνταμ της Ολλανδίας σε διοργάνωση του Θεάτρου Ζίντ και του Δήμου του Άμστερνταμ.

Director’s Note, Antonis Diamantis, about “Odyssey”:

The Odyssey is one of two major ancient Greek epic poems attributed to Homer. It is, in part, a sequel to the Iliad, the other Homeric epic. The poem mainly focuses on the Greek hero Odysseus (known as Ulysses in Roman myths), king of Ithaca, and his journey home after the fall of Troy. It takes Odysseus ten years to reach Ithaca, after the ten-year Trojan War. In his absence, it is assumed that Odysseus has died, and his wife Penelope and son Telemachus must deal with a group of unruly suitors, the Mnesteres (Greek: Μνηστῆρες) or Proci, who compete for Penelope's hand in marriage.
Omma’s Studio dramaturgy based on the two of the three main chapters: ”Nostos” (return home) and Mnistiorofonia” (killing of the suitors).There is no a reference in the performance, of the first part ”Telemachia”.
Omma Studio and its actors / actresses, worked upon the way of singing the story, giving emphasis in the oral tradition as the epic singer did in the Homeric times named “aoidos” or a rhapsodist (professional performer who was more likely intended to be heard than read also in these times).
The work of Omma Studio in “Odyssey’ is based in two axes:
-The actors and actresses didn’t work in the metric and music of the Homeric times, they used melodies from traditional and contemporary Greek songs, melodies from Africa, melodies from Indians, Latin America and they composed melodies.
-In the continuance of research which Omma Studio does for the last 10 years upon the theme: ‘the relation between Ceremony and Theatre”.
The work with Theatre Potlach, its director Pino Di Buduo and its actress Nathalie Mentha, was very essential in the level of exchanging scenic experiences, which “opened” our artistic roads for a future collaboration. It was the same result attending the very interesting procedure of work of making personal testimonies in theatre actions, by Zid Theatre and her Directress Karolina Spaic, which inspired and stimulated us for future collaboration.
