060 - Further South on the Leicester Line on our Narrowboat,

We leave the peace and quiet of Mount Sorrel and cruise to Leicester. Landscape changing from rural to urban with lots of remnants from Leicesters industrial past very evident.

Michael manages to squeeze in some touristing with a trip to the National Space Centre.

I just loved Jo's laugh when Mike said 'Rectus'.
Still, I have learnt something new.

Glad you liked our engines (I am one of the volunteers ) who cares for the Abbey Pumping Station and please come back one one of our open days when we have one of those beauties running

I agree Michael, when we visited we found so many places of historical interest and the supporting architecture like you say the beauty of the Poo Station. That is the quintessential British way. Enjoy it while you can. COVID-19 has changed so many things and the way other things are in the process of being rethought. I cannot stress enough how much I enjoy your journeys. Whoever where is the main Star, I have not seen George once, yet.

Hey, Jo! you don't have to look into the camera with your sunglasses on we can't see your eyes. That way you can dodge the trees, lol. Space, steam and sewage, who could ask for more? That pump out station is beautiful.

I too have the lurghi. There is a lot of it about. It hangs around forever. You have my deepest sympathy.

Glad you were able to get to the Space Centre and the pumping station. Both fascinating places. I love the way the Victorians made even their giant pump-outs (great image btw) beautiful. We could take a leaf out their book as most modern utilities are sooo boring.

Hello Jo and Michael, thanks for the vid nothing wrong at the start, fairly normal I would say (insert smiley face) enjoyed your commentary Mike, as usual. Great touring, Cheers G.

I’m surprised that the CRT doesn’t operate a boat to regularly clean the canal. That would seem to make sense. Very cool museums in this video.

Please - at the end of your English/Welsh journey stick your boat on a panatech (big wagon) and visit the canals in Scotland. You would love the Falkirk wheel and we have some really good Universities up here. 😁

Wonderful as usual. I always envy the places you get to explore. The Space museum was great. As a kid my parents took me to see 1 of the Mercury and 3 or 4 of the Apollo lift off from Cape Canaveral. I also am fascinated with space and all it has to offer. Sorry to see M feeling poorly.Jo looks and sounds well as does George. Hope M gets better quickly.
Thanks again for the entertainment.

Old engines and pumps, Now you are in my favorite places. I am always amazed at Michael's extreme wealth of historical knowledge but it seems that whenever he is not feeling well it really surfaces, speaking Latin?! It is amazing that I consistently failed history in high school (That was probably before you two were born!) but I am fascinated by Michael's commentaries. I would love to meet with you sometime at one of these places just to learn. Would send the requested massive amounts of pseudoephedrine but I doubt it would make it through customs. And I think I may get a visit from the DEA over here. Anyway, keep up with the videos, greatly enjoy them. Glad to see Jo at the helm a little more.

Loved Michaels visits to the ISS! and the steam museum abbey etc. Pretty cool. He didn’t say whether he thought the space centre was any good or not?

You know M's on form when Jo can't but help laugh. Smashing episode and I love the Space Centre. Took our Beavers Scouts there (yes for my sins I'm a Scout Leader) a couple of years back and they utterly loved every moment of it!

Oddly find myself wondering what the CRT would charge for a Pump Out from that beasty. I hope to God I'm not on my own mentally pursuing such pointless thoughts...

Cheerful as always. Thank you. I think I left comments on the immediately preceding vid that I had intended for this one.
