Correction: After 56:10, the right hand side should have (Ec-mu)/kBT instead of Eg/kBT as the power of exponential. Secondly, in the expression for mu, the factor multiplying kBT should be ¾ and not ½.
Number of electrons in the conduction band and number of holes in the valence band of a semiconductor are calculated. Using this law of mass action is obtained. Finally Fermi energy for an intrinsic semiconductor is calculated.
