Wow. Thanks! Fear of the Lord really sets the precedent for this sequence of prayers. It would seem that we should recognize that God is very discriminating concerning his holiness. He said he would turn away from Israel for the slightest breach of his holiness (Deut 23:12-14). On the other hand, he's a rewarder of those who live in a way that pleases him.
