Drawing a fox adventurer character with Inkscape - a fast time-lapse illustration

In this video you can follow my process of drawing a fantasy FOX ADVENTURER with Inkscape!
Meet Thomas Bushdweller, a young and not-so-brave fox adventurer I created for the Character Design Challenge this month.

Here are the steps I took (so you understand better what is happening in this fast video)
- Draw the basic shapes of the fox with the Pen tool
- Create a fox themed sword and simple pouch and add them to the character
- Use the gradient tool to create depth and basic shading on the fox
- Add highlights to the character, reflecting the light of the torch
- Finally add a dark background to make the colors and lights more visible and add contrast to the illustration
