A quick experiment to try receiving AO-73 on a €24.50 DVB-T/DAB/FM dongle (the version with the R820 tuner chip). This was done without any additional pre-amplification or bandpass filtering. Recording made during a 21 degree elevation pass - at its closest approach AO-73 was 1500km distant from the receiving location.
