È Piccerella (Elvira Notari, 1922) - Silent film soundtrack

I had the opportunity to participate with one of my pieces in "Sounds for Silents," a screening of silent films with live soundtracks.
I was assigned the beginning of "È Piccerella" (Elvira Notari, 1922), a passionate drama set in 1920s Naples.
In writing the piece I tried to reproduce the liveliness of the neapolitan spirit under the influence of french music which in those years was represented by musical impressionism.
Unfortunately, due to technical problems, the version staged June 15 at the Palladium Theater was significantly modified. For this reason, the music in this video is a mockup made with sample libraries.
The piece has been registered under name "Impressionismo napoletano" - © SIAE (2021)
