Rok czasu i nikt nie napisał komentarza??? Więc ja napiszę pierwszy.... muzyka warta poznania ze wszech miar, Grażyna Bacewicz to taki polski Prokofiev na moje ucho oczywiście, koncert fortepianowy jest niesamowity! Powinien być częściej grany

I have listened to a lot of Bacewicz's music in recent years at the behest of Polish friends and cannot understand all the fuss.
The music is re-warmed Bartók and Prokofiev, with occasional helpings of Stravinsky and even (now and then) Britten. Rather than a composer, she remained a proto-composer and this work also has the unmistakable padding of other second rate composers in the tedious repetition of figures and flourishes verbatim time and again in each movement. Listen and you will pick that up. The same disease can be found in such as Arnold and Sessions, with that other sub-symptom being crude shaping and relief on the part of the listener when the striving ends.
There are some interesting ideas in Bacewicz's string quartets but they are not developed and, in the ones I have heard, she falls back into the comfort zone of Debussy via Bartók's first two quartets.
The orchestra here is patchy but musical and soloist really should be playing better works than this.
