I think Rik Emmett is one of those underrated and underappreciated talents in rock. Not only is the guy's voice epic, but his guitar playing is on a level few can achieve.

What a talented guy. One of my guitar hero's growing up. His ability to sing lead and play lead guitar on such a super high level still amazes me to this day.

Thank you for the amazing memory. The Texas Jam 1983 in Houston, Tx was my first concert. It was on my 14th birthday and I had been allowed to go with friends from school. Uriah Heep opened the show, Triumph was next, followed by Ted, then Sammy. The show was more amazing than Rick Emmit just described, with each act striving to outdo the previous. And that encore with Ted, Sammy, and Rick playing Whole Lotta Love just blew the roof off the Astrodome. Everyone left before Styx even hit the stage. Man what a concert, thanks for helping me relive it.

As a Canadian tooting our own horn.😁 The absolutely fantastic talent that Canada produced in around that time was amazing. Triumph is so underrated.

That man, Rik Emmett, has devoted his life to making the best music I have ever had the pleasure to hear.

That man, Rik Emmett, is a cartoon artist. He is a teacher. He is a perfectionist. He is a comedian. He is a master of his craft. Rik Emmett is a virtuoso guitarist,   he is an incredible vocalist and 2nd to none Songwriter!! This man's lyrics have inspired and given hope for the masses and the downtrodden. Just speaking from experience and having personally met Mr. E a few times, his character is only matched by his talent. He's real with all his fans. And nobody has more talent than Mr Rik Emmett. He is the most talented musician of All time. Just name 1 other person that is more talented in writing, singing, and the incredible guitar talent that Rik Emmett brings. Look at all his accomplishments. Not even 1 other musician comes close. Rik Emmett left a very successful band and became the most talented musician of All time. Period, full stop. Rik's discography will blow your mind. And ya gotta get the campfire sessions. And "Lay it on the Line" and his book of poems!!! Are you kidding me? He's also a devoted husband and father.

Thanks Mr Rik Emmett,   thanks for sharing your talents to the world.

I'm going to share some of your songs on my way out.

All the Best,
to the Best.

Tedly loves Rik. When Joan Jett was named a top geetarist and Rik wasn't, Tedly mentioned it was a bad joke and spoke highly of Rik. The video is on Tedly's channel.

I Love watching this again I was there I was a Huge Triumph and Sammy Hagar Fan and for them to be at this event was also I remember I came from my hometown 2 hrs away and with friends I told them Triumph was near Perfect just 2 weeks after US Festival and I remember getting a Dallas newspaper they always had a big write up about the Texxas Jam and sure enough there was a big picture of Sammy Hagar and also a picture of Tommy Shaw and Sammy had challenged Tommy for a guitar battle on stage and I am Thinking that is what I am going to see and like Rik Emmett is saying Sammy was on Fire and he was Coheadlining with Styx when Sammy came back for encore no Tommy Shaw but Rik Emmett and Ted Nugent and they played a Led Zeppelin Song I was So over the Top Happy it was out of the 10 years of Texxas Jams one of The Biggest Moments and then what happened to Styx was tough!

Love Rik, love Triumph. Saw them once on their “Never Surrender” tour in the final weeks of my senior year in high school, great show! Triumph and Rush were both a BIG part of my high school days/memories. They both still are.

Great story about Rik, Sammy and Ted. I've been loving the Rik & Triumph content on a lot of youtube channels lately. Long overdue.

Saw Triumph 5 times and every time you could see Rik getting more confidence and more vocal duties. It was truly amazing to be 15 feet from the stage and watch! One of my favourite singers and certainly a guitar God for sure! Sean from Sudbury, Ontario!
