Some people may find this disturbing, seeing Mario’s human head on a horse or mule, eating grass in the open plains. However I find that this is THE- ultimate escape. Mario beforehand, probably on one of his adventures, found it incredibly difficult to reach the castle and defeat bowser, and takes a nap to relax himself. Only to wake up in a field, confused and disgruntled that he has a horse body. As his natural instinct after waking up from slumber, he eats his natural source of nutrition, grass. He does this a few times until he is satisfied, putting up a smile at the end as he realizes he doesn’t have to worry about Bowser, Peach, or any baddie in the mushroom kingdom. He is at peace, free to live out the rest of his days however he wants with no worries as a majestic creature. And that is why I think this is the ultimate escape, no worries, responsibility, only, the opportunity to roam this free world.
