Kingsoft WPS is the best alternative to office for a Linux User. It opens correctly MSO documents unlike OpenOffice which in my opinion is just awful to work with MSO documents.

NEVER used Mandrake myself ... My first Linux (similar to Noah Chelliah 's experience, lol) was a boxed copy of Red Hat 6.x that didn't "Like my hardware" .... my first SUCCESSFUL (thanks to a very good friend of mine) Linux install was Suse 9.3

I thought Mandriva died years ago, which was why Mageia was originally made?   or maybe they were just talking about it and a group of devs panicked and forked it. . .oh well.  either way, it's always sad to see a distro die.

I am a HUGE Fedora fan but I have to say I admit that partitioner in Fedora STINKS .... I am also one that has tested the alpha and beta releases (so i have been playing with dnf instead of yum for a few weeks now)
