I'm a grown man and a tear came out of my eye. Just imagine if this was possible. What an amazing thing this would be instead of the stupidity we have today. Just imagine the Navies of the US, Russia and China all in the water together. Just imagine the air force of the US, Russia, and China, all flying side by side together. What an amazing sight that would be. Imagine.

I will never forget an old acquaintance, that I went to grade school with, describe an incident during his service in the US Army Reserves. Dave (my friend) had grown up in a conservative military family during the Cold War; his male relatives had been Army / National Guard for at least three generations. He entered service himself in the early 80s, fully expecting to fight in WW3. Yet when he told me this story about 10 years later, he had just finished two weeks of joint exercises / training with regulars from a couple of former Warsaw-Pact nations. He showed me a unit cap one of them had exchanged with him. He said it made him a better man and soldier, seeing and working with those men. I've often thought of his words, and how the ideals of human unity and a peaceful world can be found in very unexpected ways and places.
