the 3in1 castle is for me one of the best creator sets ever. If you are into MOCs and dont mind to sort out all pieces before beginning you will get a ton of fun builds. I bought 6 sets over time to build 2 mocs with 3 sets. Awesome

I'm shocked at how many sets just recently came out that are already retiring. I thought I would have at least another year to save up for the Batcave set. Don't see it as one I'll get in time, but hopefully there is an animated series version somewhere down the line, which I would prefer anyways.
I agree that castle 3-in-1 set is fantastic, especially for the price. I collected several of the set over time. I had 3 and then found them on discount, so got a couple more. So I have a total of 5 so I can do some really cool mocs with them.

This was really solid. (Subscribed!) Thank you. You helped me reset my priorities as to which sets to get and when. (Unfortunately the “discounted” caveats don’t seem to be applicable in the U.S.)
I really appreciated that it was seemingly aimed a bit more toward collectors as opposed to investors.
Now I just need to find a complete list of retiring sets then sit down and make a plan (hashtag FOMO!)

i have the loop coaster and its definitely one of those things everyone who comes into my house will see first.
like the disney castle, it's definitely the centerpiece of any displays u may have at home. especially if ur coffee table is now an amusement park like mine lol

In your experience once the set is retired is it gone forever or will they eventually come out with a new version? I've seen some star wars and HP sets get retired to then be renewed and improved a few years later.

Very good list - but it gave me a headache. I came back to lego after a long time - today I built my second set after 25 years - it was the Millennium Falcon lego 75375. It took me around 3 hours of chilling. I liked it a lot but I need something bigger. I think I will just save money and buy 10305 Lion Knights' Castle during Black Friday, even though there are at least 2-3 cheaper sets I would love to have from your list. I think 10305 is my dream set.

I just ordered the Eldorado Fortress, and I bought the big Indiana Jones set I couple of days ago (before I found out it was retiring). I found the Galaxy Explorer on the same site I ordered the Eldorado Fortress from, and they had 4 in stuck. I have ordered from that site before, also a set that was retired (well retiring but Leto had run out and it was December the year it retired). Really excited for them arriving. I don’t really have the space for them so they will stay in their package under my bed until I move out, but I really want them

I had no idea the Cantina was a thing. It looks amazing, but I fear I won’t be able to afford it nor do I really have anywhere to display such a gargantuan set piece.

I would still love to get it though, so many mini figs and references to the movie!
