Do you see that minimap at the bottom right side of the screen?
This could be Free Roam mode but… it could also be a new mode like Story Mode. That minimap is given open world adventure mode or story mode. That’s WILD!

The tariffs are a black swan event. And we all thought it was Rockstar who was going to force the change in MSRP. The videogame industry's dream is a "Games a service" business model, and they've wanted to raise prices for a long, long time. Why not have $100 games? And $600 Switch 2 Pro QLED? And $100 Nintendo Online Service Pack? $100 controllers? The purchasing power of many is decreasing year after year, most people can't even get through a $500 emergency. People are angry because they subconsciously realize they're being priced out of a hobby they may have used as a pressure release valve, let alone a hobby they have grown up with.

The prices of the system are as expected, I don’t think it’s too much. People are crazy, it’s new tech of course it costs more. Just like car trim models lol people are dumb. A2025 car cost more than a 2016 car lol Price is fine and Nintendo will keep it the same price.

It’s the GAMES that are egregiously priced and need to be adjusted my guess is Nintendo isn’t making as much a profit on the hardware as they usually do so they’re compensating by increasing software prices.

Most of the comments in this section are “OMG THANK YOU I’M SO TIRED OF EVERYONE HATING AND JUMPING ON THE BANDWAGON.” There’s a good amount of reasons for people to be upset and they have the right to complain. Keep in mind, Nintendo had a lot of people complaining about much until the era of the switch in general, that’s saying something.

The game prices are still insane.

In Switzerland the Switch 2 is 470 Chf / ~550 USD and what's even worse, games are up to 80 Chf / ~94 USD, after taxes.
Let's say someone works very hard for his or her money and could afford those prices, but still find the prices insulting. The average Joe is clearly telling Nintendo that Mario Kart isn't worth 80, 90 or even 100 USD. In the end it doesn't matter what Nintendo thinks, it only matters what the consumer thinks.

If Nintendo deprives me of reasonable prices, I'll deprive them of my money.

Piracy for the Switch 2 will be a sight to behold.

The price of the Switch 2 console is pretty close to what I figured by the specs. The price games on the other hand is a hard pass. Paying $80 and $90 for one game without limited edition merch is a ripoff and having to pay for a patch for a game you already own is ridiculous. Generally upgrade patch is free on PS5 and PC.
The question is that what good is a game console if it's too expensive to buy the games? The only way I can see to avoid the price hike is to not buy it on mass till Nintendo gets off their high horse and bring the price down to a sane price. Besides, if Nintendo is allowed to hike the price of games so dramatically then everyone else will follow suit. If that happens then it will be 1983 all over again.
