Summary:
Singer-songwriter Tristen brought her Nashville twang and sunny pop rhythms to the Paste studio in NYC on July 25. The former touring member of Jenny Lewis's band performed three songs from her first full length record since 2013, Sneaker Waves. Tristen and her band started off with "Got Some," the track about "suspicious late-night phone calls," "Glass Jar," the first single from the record and "Psychic Vampire," which was scaled-down to an acoustic version for the Paste studio. Holy heck this is one of those videos that make me wonder how i hadn't heard this before. Pop music perfection, and it could have come from the 80s, 90s, 00s, etc - it's not aping a particular genre. it's just a great song performed greatly.

I remember seeing her doing this awkward solo accoustic show at the old Family Wash over off Riverside in East Nashville years ago. She looked like she was still in high school, and I couldn't understand a damn word in her lyrics over the chatter of the place's patrons. She's a little pretentious now, but this song is catchy, as are some of her others.
