That's why people need to start realising 2 things;
1-They're being fooled by big corporations.
2-Gotta start taking care of old cars instead of thrashing them because once they're rare and valuable and we're stuck with planned-obsolescence shitboxes, it'll be too late.

My dad used to say that the people that designed the cars, should have to work on them.

My favorite memories growing up were working on my car with my dad. Working on cars taught me patience and the importance of paying attention to everything you're doing as a single slip up could ruin your entire car like almost it did when I accidentally put power steering fluid in my brake fluid reservoir. My dad made me get a piece of water hose and suck it out as he claimed he couldn't find the pump at the time. I don't mean suck it into my mouth I mean suck it just enough so there would be enough low pressure in the hose to extract most of the fluid. I thought it was child abuse back then but now I make sure to stop and think two seconds before I pour and liquid in anything or cut anything. Working on cars helped me to learn how to focus, concentrate, and problem solve. It made me the man I am today...

The older I get, the older cars I find myself buying! I’ve found that well-made 90’s vehicles are a good sweet spot; easy to fix without sacrificing much in the modernity department!

who ever is doing the editing and adding the pictures in is doing a great job.

My solution: Buy a car that is at least 10 years old. Let the 1st owner suffer the depreciation and recalls. With a 10 year old car the problems are well known by that point and parts are easily available and cheap.

Don't have to buy the new junk. Just buy older cars, easy to work on, cheap insurance, cheap taxes, cheap to fix, ect ect.

My uncle has been a mechanic since 1973. He told me, " Mechanics today are parts changers, not mechanics anymore". The most costly repairs involve electrical or computer issues. He and I miss the old days and vehicles when you didn't need a laptop to figure out your problem.

I hope they never stop making older car parts and the industry stays alive and well for us who enjoy getting dirty under the hood.

Just wait until the change the OBD system and lock it so only a dealer can check it. Wait, that sounds like a violation of Anti-Trust laws.

This video explains what I've felt about restoring modern cars vs older cars. Moderns are so complex and crowded in together -- especially with computers that ultimately fail -- and the expense of replacing parts and pieces -- just not worth the effort.
