Yuto Horigome blew up shortly after we featured him in our Next New Wave series in 2016. He has dominated the contest scene since then, topping the podium consistently (and quietly). Over the next four years he filmed a Recruit and more than a dozen other projects with us—here's just six minutes of his outstanding output.

If you took shane oneills technical ability on ledges, mixed with some of prod's creativity, throw in some oh nyjahs robotic style, and some weird grant taylor transition, you get this kid

Its 1 thing to skate effortlessly around a park, but when you're tre flipping a 10 stair with your arms down by your sides or nollie 270 noseslide 270 like it's a basic trick is a whole another level..

Congrats on your gold medal!!
I would hate to see comments like ”theres always an asian better than you”.... this is pure talent, hard work, and lots of courage. Like deciding to move to another country to skate without speaking much of English right outta high school mustve been a courageous decision. Hats off and

Yuto really deserved the gold medal. He makes everything look so easy. And it did take guts to leave Japan and go to LA when he didn't speak English too much. Was great watching him in the video.

That's how I wished somebody would be able to skate, one day. The guy finally fullfilled the dream of generations of skaters. Throw tricks at will, no matter how difficult, on any stance, on any obstacle, effortlessly, with the cleanest style. Can't get tired of watching this.

Amazing how we only see the finished product but never see the amount of effort and time this guy put into his craft

Sep 5th 2021 Melbourne is still in lockdown... I came here again to find peace. Watching him skating like this and when the music was on at 2:15 he's like a happy fish gliding through gentle waves and the world is fine again for me.
