Burmese food is not talked about enough so I got a whole table full of Burmese dishes I’ve never had before. I was told about this Burmese food event that sold many traditional and uncommon Burmese foods so I had to check it out. As I entered the event, it reminded me a lot of the Lao community gatherings with aunties selling the most delicious foods that you can only find at the temple. One of the unique dishes was this salad made from crumbling up shrimp vegetable fritters and tossing the salad with a red dressing. I also got the popular tofu salad and a Burmese pizza covered with a type of bean and herbs. My favorite dish was nan gyi thoke and its a thick noodle salad mixed with chicken curry, chili oil, chickpea flour, herbs, and a squeeze of lemon. What are your favorite Burmese dishes?
