Hi -- I'm Don Cameron, founder of ConferTel and in this webinar Skill Builder Minute I'm going to talk about the 4 most common formats you may want to consider for your webinar. A webinar can be structured in a variety of formats to suit different purposes. Here are some formats you may wish to consider -- along with the pros and cons:

First is the Lone Speaker
A single presenter speaks, demonstrates, and answers questions from the audience. The benefit is you only have one person to coordinate and train on the webinar tool. The downside is you have only a single voice, a single personality, which may not be as interesting as a joint discussion -- especially if it's a long presentation.

Next is the Interview Style
This is where you have an Interviewer asking a set of predetermined questions of a guest expert
• This format is usually more engaging to the audience because they hear multiple voices. And the fact that the interviewer is asking questions of the expert often encourages the audience to do the same.
• But -- you have more people to train and coordinate - and scheduling the run-through and the actual webinar may be more difficult.

Then there is the Moderated Panel Discussion - multiple people on the line at the same time, with a moderator facilitating the discussion.
This format is good because it offers a variety of voices and perspectives. On the negative side, you have more people to train and coordinate, scheduling the run-through and the actual webinar may be more difficult - and it can be challenging to keep panelists from talking over each other.

The last is the Interactive format. Audience members participate fully via instructor-led exercises and facilitated conversations.
If done well, participants receive a deeper understanding of the topic because they're fully engaged in the dialog and the exercises. However, this format can only accommodate a small group and requires a very skilled and experienced presenter.

And that's your Webinar Skill Builder Minute ~ thanks for joining me.
