US President Biden meets Japan PM Kishida ahead of G7 summit

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida talked up his country's growing cooperation with the US as he met President Joe Biden in Hiroshima today. Mr Biden affirmed the unity that exists between the allies on a number of fronts, including "holding Russia accountable" for the Ukraine war. Both men met ahead of the three-day G7 summit, which starts tomorrow. G7 leaders are expected to touch on a range of issues, with China and the war in Ukraine likely to be high on the agenda.
