I can listen to different kinds of music, but it has to be up tempo or have a rock feel to it. I'm no rocker but you can't help feeling it running through you when it's blasting in your ears. I tend to kick off my runs with Burning Heart from Rocky 4.

The best purchase I ever made was the VR1 headphones from fx sport. Sweat and rainproof, no wires, 8 gig memory and built in mp3 player. Sound quality is amazing too! I wear them even when not running. :)

I listen to Trance, Rock and even Classical when running in training but the rythem of your body is what you need to listen to when racing as no MP3 players aloud on race day!

It might be my style, but i really enjoy running with the Paradoxium 100k subs mix. The mixing isnt great but i think the songs are great and running with that mix on seems to work pretty well for me. Just an advice.
