Sir! I have a confusion as I have watched your previous lectures regarding the nomenclature through which I came to know that when there are more than 1 substituents on parent chain so we sum up the carbon number on which they are present from both left and right side numbering then we name the substituents by that sequence in which the sum is smaller but here you're telling us that alcohol is preferred over alkene while the sum of carbon sequence is larger so how come we know where to start the numbering substituents and which functional group will be preferred over the other?
