Such an important tip!! When I first started Figma, I would painfully detach each instance of the card component in order to paste the image. I hope this video reaches many people!

ahh.. not sure what version of Figma you’re using but you can totally cut and paste keeping the placeholder’s properties (border, shadow etc). Select the placeholder in the component instance.. and then in the Fill section click on the color.. and switch it to image which will create a checker pattern.. then you can do a paste of the copied image. this will create another fill with the new image and then you can delete the other checker image. Thsi way now you have an image inside of the styled placeholder, with border, shadows etc preserved.

Thanks for this awesome tip! Never knew cmd+option+c and cmd+option+v could work like this, new skill acquired! Quick question: For handling loads of images, doing it one by one seems a bit tedious. I've developed a plugin to tackle this. Interested to hear your thoughts?
