Показать описание
#MikeTyson 8-0 (8 KOs) vs. Donnie Long 15-3 (10 KOs).
Location: Trump Casino Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.
Referee: Frank Cappuccino.
Long, who earned $5,000 for the fight, was expected to be the first legitimate competition Tyson had faced as a professional.
As Tyson mentioned in the post-fight interview, the fight was supposed to be his first scheduled eight round bout but was cut to six likely due to television time constraints.
Tyson charged out aggressively and threw power punches to the head. Long circled the ring and looked to work from a distance with his jab. A big lunging left hook sent Long into the ropes and down on his backside 37 seconds in the fight. He made it to his feet at the count of three. Tyson came forward and threw a barrage that sent Long down to a knee at 1:01. He got up at the count of two. A short left hook buckled Long's knees and sent him down for the third time in the bout. Although there was no three-knockdown rule, without beginning a count, the referee waved an end to the bout. Following the knockout, #Tyson famously blew a kiss at the camera.
