Because most integrals have no analytic solution, we rely heavily on numerical methods to solve a lot of them. In this video we begin by using a simple Riemann sum to approximate a definite integral, and we use an Excel spreadsheet to investigate how the Riemann sum compares to the exact value of the integral as the number of rectangles increases.
