I am one of your biggest fans ever; I went to see you in Waco last fall, and the woman I went was amazed I knew almost every single lyric to all of your songs.

While I put on a playlist of yours because I am working on an project before having, hopefully, life altering surgery after dealing with a terrible medical condition for several years now, this song, High Ground, literally shook me to my core. I always try to find music that reflects my current situation and nothing quite described it perfectly. I am crying as I write this because this describes my mood; I somehow never heard this song before.


In a word where other singers write songs about superficial or even sinister topics, I have always admired how you always stand up for your values and do not let others define you. Although you have an amazing voice, I think your principled yet insightful lyrics set you apart from the rest.

You are my favorite singer ever, period, end of statement! I always wanted to see you in concert before you "got big." From 3rd Gear & 17 and San Angelo to Outta Style and Kiss That Girl Goodbye, you always convey your message in a classy manner. Thank you so much, and I buy an album just to say thanks for the joy you have given me.

Great song. seeing those pictures of Hurricane Harvey from that hit Texas a year ago reminds me of back when in the mid 2000’s when Katrina hit Mississippi and destroyed everything I knew as home it rebuilt but it still ain’t the same as it was before.
