Follow along as opposition parties question the Trudeau government in the House of Commons. This week the government has faced debate on the newly negotiated United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) trilateral trade deal, which replaces NAFTA. Conservative MPs have also questioned the government on convicted murderer Terri-Lynne McClintic's move to a Saskatchewan healing lodge and the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

Dont they realize that the real power of the U.S.A is in its economy? The U.S can sink pretty much any other countries economy for many years.

Well, the minister of trade was correct. Either party can withdraw from the agreement. Canada can strike a deal with China that the USA may object to as part of the USMCA framework, and then either Canada or the USA would dissolve the USMCA as a result. But what the minister fails to mention is that the big hammer that the USA threatened to use to get Canada to sign on to the USMCA agreement (tariffs on automobiles) would be immediately initiated. We are in a checkmate position.

HEY, HEY, HEY, NOW! DID YOU NOT GET ALL OR MOST OF YOUR MONEY FROM US? DID YOU EVER THINK ABOUT RAISING YOUR OWN MONEY, SO THAT YOU COULD COMPETE HONORABLY, INSTEAD OF THINKING YOU WERE ENTITLED TO THINGS FROM US?

I enjoy watching how much the Canadian parliamentary system reflects the Anglo sensibilities from which it was derived. When will they dismantle this vestige of colonialism like all those statues they've been smugly pulling down. Such hypocrites.
