I remember waking up from a dream a few hours before dawn in a cold sweat. I can recall every detail of that dream as though it was the other dsy.

I watched the documentaries of "That Fateful Day" and now that I've learned of many of the stories of men and women who sacrificed their lives while hunting down all the terrorists responsible for those horrific acts, my spirit is somber.

A combat veteran understands the 40, 000 yard stare. A long, quite, and thoughtful pause, remembering events.

When the terrorist ringleader was killed, I slept o.k. that night.

To the Heros; that cause those who see our flag's colors still represent Patriotism, and Purity, and Sacrifice.

Each person lost in war changed the world in their own way, before and after leaving us. Families continued on, minus one. I recall Dad's of my classmates who I never saw again. Sometimes the classmates also disappeared; poof, gone. First girl I ever bought a present for disappeared that way when her pilot father died. I was in 4th grade. A bit later, letters that we sent to soldiers in Vietnam were returned as undeliverable due to KIA. I've played Taps for 51 years since then. Its my honor to do so as I feel so fortunate and grateful.
