The Internet is one of the most important events in history. Without it, Wikipedia, Youtube and even Watchmojo would never exist.

I still remember when AOL was a thing, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing those Disk on a counter somewhere.

THANK YOU. This is one of the few lists where, when mentioning the Holocaust, people other than just the Jews have been mentioned. People are quick to bang on about 6 million Jews as if that's the total figure that died. Actually, it was over 11 million and those other 5 million are very often forgotten entirely. Thank you for including them. Their lives mattered too.

Problems with this video--almost all of these happened in the last few hundred years, so the title should be the most influential moments in MODERN human history. Secondly, most of these aren't "moments" but movements--drawn out events that took place over years (especially the Depression, the Holocaust, and the Black Death, which was a series of pandemics, not just one).

The Airplane invention by Wright Brothers
The discovery of penicillin (Alexander Flemming)
The discovery of vaccines (Edward Jenner)

These 3 deserved mentions

I would argue the invention of the printing press was the most significant event.

Well thought out list, however Sputnik should have been ‘the invention of Flight’ which changed EVERYTHING. That category could actually have it’s own top 10. What about invention of the automobile and Steam engine (evolving)

its amazing how one little thing can change the course of history. if Archduke Ferdinand hadn't been assassinated, the world wouldn't have gone to war, Stalin wouldn't have been brought in to pull the USSR out of the war, hitler would've been still a failing artist, and the holocaust wouldn't have happened. people that don't believe the holocaust happened need to go to Austria and other countries in Europe and see the mass graves and the remnants of it.
fun fact: during a retreat in WWI, a British soldier had Hitler, a message runner for the germans dead to rights, but didn't take the shot. he let hitler live and thus the mastermind of the holocaust and destruction, was free to start his path to madness.

The American Revolution is seen as a big deal in world history, but people sometimes exaggerate its impact on other independence movements worldwide. Sure, it shaped the US and had some effects elsewhere, but it didn't directly spark revolutions or independence in other colonies throughoutthe world. Each colony had its own thing going on, with different issues like slavery or peaceful resistance driving their struggles. Local folks and indigenous movements were key players too, and the revolution's influence didn't reach far beyond where it happened, thanks to geography and politics. So, while it's important, saying it inspired independence everywhere might be stretching it a bit, showing just how complicated colonialism and imperialism really are.

How about the invention of the thing that’s been used for thousands of years and still today. Without it the world would most certainly be different. The wheel.
