Vedanta is not a subject matter, a spiritual doctrine, or a philosophy - it is a method of self-inquiry (atma-vichara) based on the wisdom (vidya) of the ancient rishis, as found in the Upanishads, a part of the sacred Vedic scriptures. This method can lead you to discover your true, divine nature (sat-chit-ananda atma) and gain moksha, freedom from suffering.

Ananda, which is inherent in Sath, is revealed the moment Chith shines Sath. When Chith realizes Sath as Eternal and Unmoving, the fear of death vanishes; and when Chith realizes Sath as Omnipresent and Pure, dukkha dissolves. Disappearance of fear of death and dukkha is Ananda.

Dear Swamiji, thank you for a profound and important class. Yes, the impediments are difficult, for me the extroversion is still a big problem, mainly during the day, in the night I can completely let go and go inwards. Living in a big city doesn't help, as the vibes are heavy in the daytime, night time is a bliss! But, I know that work have to be done inside, no matter what is going on outside. Blessings! 🙏❤

Swami Tadatmananda:

Fasting, or Upavasa, is a form of Tapas (austerity) in Sanskrit, aimed at self-discipline and spiritual growth. It purifies mind and body, leading to self-realization and enlightenment.

From a Western perspective, fasting induces ketosis, a cleaner energy source that reduces harmful glycoproteins, promoting a healthier brain and mind. By cleansing the mind and body, fasting prepares us for spiritual awakening and higher states of consciousness.

This summary combines the Eastern and Western perspectives on fasting, highlighting its benefits for spiritual growth, mental clarity, and physical well-being!
