How to curve a ball in soccer or football! Learn to take amazing free kicks with the best curve technique!

Intro

Free kicks, the skill everyone wants to master. [Two shots] Today we’ll show you how to curve the ball over a wall, and into the top corner. You’re watching all attack. [Talking head]

Technique

Use the area between the inside of your foot and your laces to strike the ball. This will give you the power you need to get the ball over the wall and past a goalkeeper. [One shot]

Hit the lower edge of the ball, with your foot following through upward as you strike [one or two shots]. Really try and practice this low to high motion. This will give you a spin that somewhere between side spin [one shot], and top spin. This will create the curve you want, but also help your shot dip under the cross bar. [clip]

Game Tips

Before you begin your run up, look at the goal and decide where you want to shoot. Visualize your strike, and imagine it flying into the top corner.

Make sure there’s an angle between yourself and the ball. This will help you put curve on your shot [One shot]

Aim for curve. Remember that your shot is going to curve, so if you aim to for the corner your shot may end up going wide. Instead, aim for a spot that’s a little more central, and trust that the curve will take it where you want.

Try to place the ball in a spot of grass or dirt that’s slightly higher than the surrounding area. This will make it easier to get underneath the ball and over the wall. [One shot]

Watch the goalkeeper to see if they’re cheating toward the near side of the goal. Sometimes the best option may not be over the wall, but to the far corner. [One shot]

Practice

The most important part of learning free kicks is practice. It takes years to become great at this technique. So the best way to learn, is to go out every day, and do it yourself. [Various shots]

I practiced the curving shot 10 hours a week, after one and a half years i became a master at this shot and it helps me a lot.
So many people tried to bully me and say that it requires a better footballer to do it and that i cant do it.
But i was determined so i got to my goal. I score a lot of free kicks and a lot of goals from difficult ankles.




Tip: try to shoot the ball from a corner kick into the goal when you're practicing, that'll help a lot.

Thanks mate. Good to see new content. You forgot to mention the role the hip plays at curving the ball. The foot will give the ball its spin but the hip, that crossing of the leg, will set the ball on its curve.

Another Freekick Tip: If the ball isn't in ur area and it's further from where u shoot the ball when running up, as u get closer to the ball, lean forward in a bit and start to run harder on the last 2-3 steps of ur runup. This helps u kick the ball further.
