been looking for a proper review for this phone and thanks for your honest review. will be waiting for a review on the thermal camera version of the phone. i really need to know how well these types of phones perform in a repair situation where you cannot feel heat by touch of your fingers. thanks again, so far the best and only honest review out there

I've used Doogee phones for years and with me being a tradie they cop some massive abuse. First Doogee phone I bought was the S60 and it still works to this day, granted I did eventually smash the screen a few times but you could buy the parts (Screen, SIM card holder, battery, etc) and swap them yourself for super cheap if you were game - which I did. Since then, I've bought an S68 for my sister, an S70 for my niece and S88s for myself and husband and all are going great. I have one of these S98s on order because it looks awesome. Hoping it'll be just as great as the others.

I finally got caught up with your videos after starting at the very beginning when finding your channel. I love your videos, keep up the hard work so long as it makes you happy!!!

When you go out in the boat just make sure you take a bucket of rice with you and you're golden for being able to dry it out after it gets "splashed." 🤦‍♂
*Thank You* for the video Jason. 👍

Hey Jason, nice video man! Always a big fan of your videos. Can you please make a battery backup comparison video in detail? It would be great to know how long this beast lasts on wifi and 5G on?

I have the Blackview BV9900 on Verizon and had to visit a company store to get it to work. Had to change the IMEI number and after trying 4 SIM cards, I got it to work. Been looking to replace it since it's stuck on A9 and Blackview will not be updating and some apps are acting flaky. Not sure I will go back to BV. The BV9900 has a 6.1" screen and weighs 280g. Looking for a similar replacement but the new ones are large and heavy!

Do you think some of the security concerns around Chinese phones are behind these reservations from certain carriers/providers?

Good to see you back. Mr Jason,
If you get to keep the phone after the review then you have nothing to lose. Smartphones that are built for people on or near water every day are expensive. Anyway thanks for the review. 👍

Great video! I am getting a new phone this autumn and I'm tired of "regular" phones not coping with living in the countryside and working on the farm with animals vehicles etc. I have an old Huawei P30 Pro that need attention weekly with cleaning gunk out of the USB-C connetor, changing yet another screen protector, and occasionally needing to change the phone's camera glass (not only the extra protector glass). I've been looking at Blackview for a couple of years but now I'm leaning towards Doogee S98 Pro (I want the FLIR for mainly electronics and vehicle repair). Doogee having a microSD card slot AND already 256GB on board is a big thing, but most important to me is that it has standard Android 12 as I understand it. I'm sure the Doke OS 3.0 on the Blackview BL8800 Pro is good but I rather have a clean OS. That Doogee supports wireless charging is another win for them, I don't think the smaller capacity battery will be a problem for me, I don't mind charging daily anyway.
You made good sense in the review so I subbed, most vids on YouTube on the DooGee S98Pro and Blackview BL8800 Pro are jammed with tech spec errors so you are a step above most 👍

Woooohhh! A budget device that is rugged and that is 5G and that has a rear display??? The whole concept was a fairytale to me unless I saw this video of yours Jason! Keep it up man! What's your verdict on this Doogee S98?

I’ve heard some product manufacturers will actually put weights in their products because users tend to think light products are cheaply made.

Hi, does this phone have a native phone call recording?

Hi, can you tell me a bit about the flap that covers the Type-C port? I use magnetic charge cables and would like to leave a tip permanently plugged in to the port. Can the flap be removed eithout destroying it?

The face unlock isn't as good as Apple for Android. There is no IR sensor or 3D mapping built into Android.

My phone is from cricket and I have the $60 plan unlimited but in my condition it is cut in half and I paid $34 that's taxing all a month for unlimited. I just started with cricket back in February but don't ever get a dream phone from cricket because I had nothing but a problem with that phone so I bought another kind from them and I haven't had a problem. But I like the phone you showing on here which is that rugged phone Doogee.
