Fooster, you definitely need to look into narrating books on the side! 🤣 I like you diving into the story with us and sharing all the big and small details. I know some people intend to play the game themselves, but for those of us who don't, it's nice not to be left in the dark about any of the storyline/backstory! Including a note to skip to a certain time to bypass the notes is a good solution for keeping both sides happy! Thank you!

Fun Fact! The items in the submarine & shipwreck are random. I've received a crossbow in the submarine on one occasion and a granite pickaxe on a different playthrough.

Also, the fishing is going to get a bit more intricate later on. The bugs will eventually be used for bait.

There is a gravestone by the airplane. That's the end of the Logan Quest. I know for a fact the devs are revamping the items.

You're getting zombie sharks. If you kill a shark, then save or reload the game, the dead shark comes back to life, but can't die after reloading.

Lastly, you can turn off "close book after crafting" in the option screen. This will keep the book open when you craft arrows, so you don't have to keep opening it up.
