Extra dry ride would be great for playing breakbeats or drum n bass

When I hear you playing the dry mellow ride, I immediately think of the John Mayer tune: Waiting on the world to change. It has that kind of sound to it on the studio recording.

This one may be a touch too dry for me but i do love a good dark dry unlathed hand hammered turkish ride. In between your two is my favorite place to be

0:45 the gray stuff (from what I know) is just the cymbal from when they took out of the hot ovens and the lines on top is where they carved it probably for design or sound

all the stick definition on the dry, but it sounds like a sheet of tin roof to crash it. then the mellow rings for years by comparison, with almost no stick after the first few bars. super industrial and electric response on the dry, and the mellow is just that smooth hiss of elevator music in the background of the grocery store.

Joey, I can certainly hear why you like that mellow ride so much. They knew extra dry I pretty cool too. I don’t think it would come down to an either or type decision. To me they are like comparing apples and oranges. Nice.

It's a Rhino 🦏 liner sprayed cymbal...😂.... I'm predicting a trip to Home Depot, and a new vid soon brother.

I put drum tacs on the bottom of my rides to get a dry sound. Put the mute close to the bell for less dry and away from bell for max dry.

i have a very similar set up to this with the rides. i have quite a thick dry ride and i like to use my 18" sabian xplosion crash as a sort of left side jazz ride to have the contrast between a mellow washy left side ride and a pingy ride with aggressive sounding bell on the right for the blast beats, nice to have two ride bell sounds too

Paiste will never tell the drumming world what they sprayed on these cymbals but that coating and the re-lathing of the deeper grooves are it's secret to success.

The dry ride sounds better with the track!

All I can think is that snare sounds frikkin amazing. I need to hear a sound test on just that.

Can't hide behind a shit ride! The most important cymbal on the kit. I really like both of these! I love large rides too. 22 usually my favorite, but I don't own a 24 yet. My latest purchases have all been dry cymbals. None are as dry as that extra dry, but the ride sounds more like the Mellow Ride. I have kind of a love hate with the dry hi hats. Overall I love them, but for some songs they just don't get the volume I would like. 🎉
