How to Add Custom Songs to Music+ and Music Player UI Lite

Today, I explain how to add custom songs to my Music+ and Music Player UI resource packs. Enjoy!

If you notice that I sound more held back in this video than normal, that was intentional. Most people who see this video will be coming from MCPEDL or MCBedrock, so I want their experience to be quick and easy. Thanks for understanding.

This guide still works to this day (as of September 4, 2024)! If you have issues with your songs not playing in-game, try *removing ".ogg"* from the file name. Some devices hide file extensions, so your songs should be named *custom1* instead of *custom1.ogg*.

And yes, I uploaded this video a few months ago. However, the process for adding custom songs changed since the original video was uploaded, so it had to be redone.

Additionally, remaking the video allowed me to record the script with my new microphone, so the audio is clearer with less background noise.

This new version of the video also covered the new customization features added in the latest update, which weren't in the original video at all.

In summary, the video is better now that it's been redone. I also shouldn't ever have to remake the video, as the forward-compatibility of the Custom Music Container extends to any videos about it.

Having an overlap issue

What's weirder is that Claire De Lune works well with Dreiton so it doesn't sound bad

For the people who tried this and didnt work and checked the comments for help, well you are lucky.
First instead of naming the file "custom1.ogg" name it "custom1" and so on.
Second, make sure to restart Minecraft after renaming it.
There you go like if this helped. :)

Although it's probably highly unnecessary, as it's basically the same, I could possible provide video of how to it on IOS (well, Ipados, same difference) and mac for future videos like this? I'm not sure how I'd share the video though. Again completely unnecessary, probably a waste of video time because they're almost the same, but if you'd like.

Hey everyone! The gui is kinda broken on xbox and won't play songs but theres a workaround!
Play songs through command like this
/playsound song.songname @s
(Replace song name with the name of a song available with the addon)
Example
/playsound song.key @s
If the song has a space in its name, its not much diffrent
Just put an underscore where the space would be in its name.
Example 2
/playsound song.subwoofer_lullaby @s

UPDATE EVERYONE I FOUND OUT HOW TO PAUSE MUSIC PERMINITLY ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS USE A REPEAT COMMAND BLOCK WITH THE COMMAND /MUSIC STOP

then you can play and pause your music without more playing in the background

So I did get it working but you have to modify some strings in your Customizer Text Document and do not change the filename to .ogg just rename to customsong1, 2, 3, 4 etc.

Here's what you have to do after following the steps in the video:
Put your ogg song file (NOT RENAMED WITH .ogg) into the custom_songs folder
Open the Customizer Text Document
Scroll down until you see this line: "$custom_song_1_title": "",
Type what you named your song file into the quotation marks EXACTLY
"$custom_song_1_title": "TYPEITHERE",

Now repeat as necessary for the next songs just keep doing the same thing for the next lines
