UK instituted a fowl law requiring all birds - chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, you-name-it - be registered by 1 Oct. or face steep fines + jail. Number One variety of bird being registered is "Tesco Premium" - rotisserie chicken. Also registered, chicken nuggets [each one itemized], migratory geese flying overhead, Minecraft chickens, "rooster on the roof" weather vanes, etc. Gotta love the Brits.

UPDATE: I was in Meijer last week in Champaign, IL. If you are on food stamps, you receive a discount on certain foods (such as milk). Those of us that work hard for our money have to pay full price.

Update: You would not enjoy shopping in Maryland by Washington DC. For the most part we bring our own grocery bags. In fact, we’re expected to do so. Few people buy a bag. When I go to the Dollar Tree I ask for a box for my things. It’s no big deal. Costco has done this for years so I find this normal. My advice: don’t sweat the small stuff guys.

CT banned plastic shopping bags a few years ago. I now have a hefty "bag of bags" to haul to stores. Instead of reusing plastic bags for "stuff, " and ultimately for trash bags, I now have to purchase plastic trash bags.

I kid you not. Plastic bags have been illegal here in NJ since May 2022. I'm old enough to remember the paper vs. plastic debate back in the 80s/90s. The "environmentalists" back then said paper bags were killing trees, plastic bags were reusable, and thus, it was better for the environment. Fast forward to today. I travel with a bag of reusable bags in my car. It's alost second nature to reach fir them when I go shopping. Problem is, bring the right number in the store and remembering to grab one when running into a convenience store for "just 1 or 2 tems".

Yes, we are rationing IV fluids in Virginia. In the OR would normally irrigate an infection w/ 12 L of fluid now irrigating with 3L followed by an anti microbial wound irrigation. They are having patients drink clear fluids closer to surgery start time. We haven’t stopped elective cases yet but other large hospitals have done that. I honestly think that we should do the same. My employer is afraid of losing revenue.

Plastic bags illegal on Colorado also.. it’s crazy when you look down in your cart and everything you bought in wrapped in plastic bit they won’t give you any to get your food to your car🤣
