Debunking the Myths of Moe: At first glance it seems Canadian Golf Legend Moe Norman made a lateral slide with his lower body—but is that what’s really happening from start to finish?
Go deeper into Moe’s move in this current Top 10 golf book on Amazon from Todd Graves, Worldwide Authority on the Single Plane Swing.

For me, this is one of the most telling videos of Moe's swing but not because of the lateral movement Todd is talking about but the close up video of his right arm movements (like skipping a rock) just like he said.
It also shows the way the legs move with the whole body turning into the left knee.
Such a great view and one we don't get to see of Moe's swing, thanks for posting Todd!

The biggest thing for me about the single swing is helping me understand the "swinging through" the ball, instead of at the ball. When Moe shows how wide his hitting zone is, I can understand how that keeps the club square through the hit. This has been huge for me.

After watching this brilliant video, I think I understand why Mr. Norman talked so much about his shoulders and arm. It appears from this video the Mr. Norman had so highly developed those subtle stability actions in his legs and pelvis that they were allowing them to be subconscious and he could get his effortless power and accuracy without having to waste consciousness on the pelvis. Thanks for the sophisticated analysis!

Moe says he tugs through with his left arm - he was left handed - not skimming the stone with the right

The seemingly excessive distance (especially with woods) seems essential in order to stop over rotation or sway.

In the 1994 video Moe did for the PGA of America Craig Shankland when summarising the swing at the end refers to a "vertical drop" but also a "horizontal tug". Obviously the "vertical drop" has been well covered by Todd on this channel but did moe use that term "horizontal tug" or did that come from Craig? and if so what was it describing?

Hi Todd, I think I have watched all your video's, so I then clicked onto others who were illustrating the single plane golf swing which was completely different in which you show us, some of the set ups were a joke and nothing like what you and Moe have taught us over the net! They even mentioned Moe in their set up which was nothing like it, their hands/arms were straight down like a conventual golf set up which got me giggling to myself Knowing that their set up had no hope in hell But they say if you have never tried it then you will never know! So I tried it and I ended up hooking which was no surprise too me! So I guess your stuck with me! I promise not to stray again Todd!

He seem to finish like a hockey player's shot where at the end of the swing, his club is still pointing towards the target.

Watch a quarterback throw a ball, same thing, he stabilizes and then rotates! 5 stars on this video!!

Was Moe left handed and left eye dominant?...I have read and heard John Hensby mention that he was clearly left handed.

Confused Moe’s swing is furthest thing from single plane. Once he starts down is a second plane from the backswing.

I find this similar to Mike Austin difference Mike was a lot taller

To me he looks very sagittal with this hips! His hips are SUPER deep at setup and throughout.

You can see it very clearly by how much space his arms have to swing in the downswing his hips are essentially out of the way
