Chaos in Malaysia parliament after opposition lawmakers press House on Sabah issue

Malaysia's opposition members of parliament kicked up a ruckus to protest the Speaker’s rejection of motions to debate the legal seizure of Petronas assets abroad. They accused the government of poor handling of the legal claims by the "heirs" of the Sulu Sultanate that resulted in state assets being seized. This comes as politicians gear up for the next general election, which could be called at any time.

When you pay rent to a land its because the land doesnt belong to you. Malaysia pays rent to sultanate of Sulu since 1898. Therefore Sabah doesnt belong to Malaysia. Its that simple.

Sabah worst state economically in Malaysia but it should be the richest because of oil deposits. Malaysia just use Sabah for the oil money but did not developed it. Just return it to the rightful sovereign.

Just to get this corrected. The original deal in 1878 – The Sulu sultan leases Sabah to the British North Borneo Co., represented by Englishman Alfred Dent and German Gustavus Baron de Overbeck in a deed of pajak (“lease”) in which the company would pay 5, 300 Mexican gold pieces a year to the Kingdom of Sulu. Instead it was converted to ringgit. This is one of the reasons why the rent ballooned to 14.9 billion dollars in todays money. I hope this helps you all see the truth.

Correction: they are not a self-proclaimed heirs rather they are the legitimate heirs.
french arbitration would have easily dismissed the case if the basis for the claims are illegal or illegitimate.
the arbitration has found a strong probable cause to heed the claims of the heirs.

Also the Sultanate of Sulu has ceded its sovereignty to the Philippine government, therefore the province of Sulu is already a sovereign territory of the Philippines 🇵🇭

and Malaysia has been renting Sabah for more than a hundred years to this Sultanate of Sulu until they breached contact.

When you do not want to pay RM5000 for the lease, didn't attend in the arbitral, and don't want to pay the $15 billion for losing on that case, expect the worst

Best revenge for Sultanate of Sulu their fighters died to claim the Sabah years ago and thousands of Filipinos deported, humilated, harrassed, jailed and tortured by Malaysian authorities. Pay the billion dollars to Sultanate of Sulu other wise more asset will be seized by International Court. Victory for Sultanate of Sulu and Philippines.

The fact that Malaysia pays RENT for Sabah to the Sultanate of Sulu (Philippines) means that Sabah is NOT theirs. Why would you pay rent if it is your own property? Doesn't make sense, right? That's also the reason why Mindanao(part of Philippines near Sabah) is plagued with terrorists from Malaysia coz they want to destabilize the region to weaken Philippines' claim to Sabah. Just accept the arbitration ruling that Sabah is actually a Philippine territory. Documents are still within the possession of the Sultanate of Sulu that Sabah is theirs and it was just being rented by Malaysia. It was Malaysia's greedy government's fault that they proclaimed Sabah as one of their States even though they know that they are just renting it from the Sultanate of Sulu of the Philippines.

The biggest mistake was, discontinuing the rental payment which resulted to a breach of contract. It which case, the heirs of Sulu came into default. To regain control of Sabah and demand payment for the arrears based on current market price and maybe including the illegal use of natural resources of Sabah which is not stipulated in the agreement, destruction of environment, compensation for the human rights violation, and etc.

Malaysia should pay their obligation to the owner of Sabah and prepare for the return of the land to its rightful and legal owner. The whole world now knows who truly owns Sabah and Malaysia cannot hide it anymore.

If Sabah is officially a part of Philippines in the future, this means that Philippines will have land borders with Indonesia.

Sabah is owned legitimately by the sultanate of sulu. Sulu is under the Philippines. Malaysia should bring it back to the Philippines.

This will test Malaysia's commitment to international laws and agreement.
