I had a friend lose thousands through a scam... I was shocked she believed it but she did ! So glad your warning people ... people who are a little vulnerable can fall for these things that they normally wouldn’t 🙈

I only have family, friends and acquaintances on my Facebook - people I personally know - and I see this go around every year. They think if just this group of my friends participate, it will work. But it literally cannot work. It is mathematically impossible. I stopped trying to explain a few years back and now just scroll on by... Good content, Britt. Hope people listen ❤😙

I have seen 2 of my friends post it on Facebook. I told one friend that I would participate because I thought she was getting a bunch of our friends together for a swap. When I saw the email with the directions, I knew something was fishy. At the same time, I got sick with a cold-no Covid- and have not followed through with anything. Glad you decided to post this, hopefully, it will help some people. This scam seems a more 'evolved' version of doing box exchanges people used to do here on YouTube. People would look for others in their community (beauty, crafts etc) to do a swap kind of thing where they would send each other a box of items they thought the other would like. Of course, things would often go wrong, some would receive really cheap products, used products or not get send anything while they did hold up their end of the deal and get told it was the mail's fault.

Another sad thing is when someone is lonely and they think they are having some big love affair and they give the person their money only to find out its not even that person. They end up nroke sometimes. A terrible thing..

For those of us old enough to remember, this is just an updated social media version of a chain letter (also illegal.) Thanks for the heads up for those who haven't heard about it. Off topic but when you have a chance Britt, I'd love to hear your take on Def Noodles short video from about a month ago 'YouTube is Trying to Delete My Channel.' Seems like the problematic people on the platform just keep getting bigger and bigger with no repercussions and the people calling them out for it are unfairly being punished. Total BS IMHO.

Thanks for pointing this out. I haven’t seen this particular one yet, but I see them. People have tried to get my husband to do something like this that was just cash and not necessarily on social media. He brought it to me because my BS detector is better than his. He thought it sounded fishy and too good to be true. I agreed and explained without needing to look anything up. It’s terrible that people prey on those who are in need already.

Another big issue in Ireland atm is FB raffles ex.. We have 47 numbers for our lottery on Wed and Saturday. So you pick a number and the prize vary. But a girl raffled play station 5 for double the price because we are having major issues trying to get the PS 5. She knew so many mum's where doing anything to get one. I had to tell my 10 year old we just couldn't get one this year 😔 she doubled her money. Its so frustrating

I guarantee you could do a whole video. My aunt fell for one. They tried to get me with the IRS scam. Unfortunately this does target paycheck to paycheck people, people with disabilities or the elderly.😞🤬

I deactivated my Facebook a couple months ago. Facebook was getting just alittle too "out of control". I've heard about these but have never seen it. I'm getting an overload of Scam telephones calls tho. Thanks for bringing us aware of this. 😘🌷

My mom told me years ago that she tried a chain letter where you sent out hankies and were supposed to get a bunch back. Back then it was a few stamps lost but now...scarey! She was so mad that she never got 1 hanky back. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much for the warning and making this video! What a crappy thing to do! My radar is always up for this stuff...and many are vulnerable right now. It's sad really.
