MotoRex Nissan Skylines | KTLA5 Morning News Reportage

An old video from back during the "MotoRex Days"; back when American JDM fans were first finding out about MotoRex and the Nissan Skyline GT-Rs. This report features the R33 ("1998 model") and the R34 ("1999-2000 model")

Backstory: In the late 90s and early 2000s, a company called MotoRex actually went through the expensive if not tedious process of "federalizing" the R33s; performing the methods of crash-testing them, installing additional safety protections as well as correct reflectors, gauges, etc. until their R33s were deemed importable.

Then later on, MotoRex started importing R32s and R34s and telling the government that these were R33s, as well as no longer doing the conversions to meet U.S. standards that they told the government they would perform.

Long story short, MotoRex was shut down and we haven't been able to get the desirable Skylines since then.
