Who are some of your favourite companies in Music Production?

Many years ago when I worked at Apple in France a small team of us, Oren Ziv, Dot Bustello, and myself helped out Apogee on their stand at the Musicmesse in Frankfurt. I can add further praise to Betty Bennet: Over and above her business and technical skills, she is absolutely hilarious and great fun to be around.

Absolutely loved this video - what a great insight into Apogee - and an education to those who might not have known just how much we owe them for being so innovative. Myself and my wife have just updated our interfaces to the Duet 3 LE which come with the Dock and we absolutely love them. I’ve had quite a few of their interfaces, from the original ONE, then the updated version, the Duet 2 and the Boom as well. Great video!

Welcome to "Behind the music" but for actual music producing people. Brillant as ever Warren, keep them coming!

I'm an Apollo user these days but I started out my studio with a Digi002. A year or so in, I added an Apogee Rosetta to take over the clocking duties, I was blown away at how the audio became three dimensional with a much larger soundstage. At that instant, I understood the value of accurate clocking.

This is one of the many reasons I love this channel. We get introduced to the real people who make and record music and make the gear we use every day! Thank you so very much!

I’m honestly impressed by your mini-docs, like they belong on their own channel, I guess this is a good “proof of concept” when it comes to production.

Wow this is crazy. I used to work for a company and met Betty Bennett herself. She asked for my help with some of there new equipment and I personally got to record some fun vocals with her. She personally handed me the Groove headphone amp and told me to keep it! Such an amazing person and company. At the time I had no idea I was sitting next to a LEGEND!! Really helped my music career!

Your presentation on the Apogee Digital empire and its revolutionary impact on digital recording was outstanding. You have a remarkable ability to communicate and represent the brand. You deserve recognition for your skills as a presenter, akin to the awards given at the Oscars. Wow. You are very talented.

My Rosetta 800 has been the backbone of my little home studio for nearly 20 years. I've changed the power transformer once, in that time and it's been like clockwork. The soft limit is my secret weapon with even totally sequenced electronica songs going out to analog and back into the Rosetta for extra kick.

The Helios Console history is a fun rabbit hole to go into. The discography is mind blowing. My favorite recordings came from those consoles.

Nice touch Warren. Your passionate description on Apogee's work makes me understand how great and influential they were and they are as of now. Though i cannot afford their pro-products, i do own a 2nd hand Duet and it really sounds amazing, both recording and playback.

absolutely brilliant video i was captivated throughout the whole piece. im 50 now and i felt like i could genuinely relate to the story. im not an industry pro far from it but i have a good ear and topics like this are relevant to me. today in 2023 when i put on my dt770's and listen to fully remastered works by the like of kraftwerk or jean michelle jarre i often hear new things i never heard on the vinyl recordings and that because despite staging and monitoring being way better these days all of that work apogee did way back then has augmented the finished sound. salute!

Bout a used quarter a few years back. Love it...with the adat in and low bit rate i get 12 total channels @ 16bit using an old adat machine. Only wish it had a power button

Hats off to Apogee im now sure that they ve been a pioneer of digital audio prosessing industry. İ think back then producing music was completely a priviledge to some people with lots of money, a talented team, critical friemdships etc. Now its so much simpler. You would know better than anyone that now anyone can produce pro quality music with a tiny fraction of what would they have spent 20-30 years ago. İ appreciate that. İ dont care who did first but thanks got they did😊.

A well presented comprehensive coverage of Apogee Warren well done. Not only do Apogee have top quality products, their customer service is also excellent. I had a few questions about my situation & they were extremely helpful. I'm using an Apogee Element 46 & it's been great. I figured if their products are good enough for Bob....they certainly are for me! 😁

Amazing stuff ❤ i started my journey with sound blaster, Roland sound cards then EMU systems and Maudio gear but when I get my first apogee duet FW that was blow my mind what a great AD and DA conversion 😮 my quest were done I just enjoy that wonderful sound … the pres with 65db of gain what looked so simplistic one rotary encoder just amazing user experience 😊 I still have my duet fw works with some complaining about drivers but love to this guys 🎉by the way in the video you showed the wrong ensemble which came after… the Big Ben wow what a monster innovative thing like those filters insane legacy… finally I say that now I use RME products which I hope doing any video sooner because I think they did important things like zero latency tech 🤓 and great interfaces and adda converters mic pres … and still doing amazing job on this days! 😀
Love you guys for the video always like PROS❤
