That’s not Sauerkraut though, it’s Rotkohl :) Sauerkraut is specifically made with white cabbage.

homemade sauerkraut is the BEST and super easy! all you need is cabbage, salt, and a jar, and you only need to check it once a day. highly recommend

Don’t feel frustated if you don’t have the time for this or to follow all the other trends about homesteading and canning. Be kind to yourself, most of the world population will not find the time for this until they retire or become unemployed. The lady in the video is fortunate to be able to make money by posting videos of her doing what she loves to keep her body healthy. No need to pressure yourself.

For anyone who may be inspired by this video and feel like trying it themselves: please exercise caution when canning and fermenting food. It's quite a risky thing to do at home, considering the risk of botulism. I know it's rare, but it doesn't mean it can't happen.

My family cans all of our own jams, pickles, relishes, peaches etc they're so much better than store-bought!
