Exploring Lufkin, Texas: A Summer Drive Down Timberland Road

Instead of taking the Loop that skirts around Lufkin, #Texas, we are going to drive south on Business 59 that cuts down the middle of the city. We will head into town on Business 59, which will turn into #Timberland Drive farther down the road – a nod to the timber and forests in the #PineyWoods- and then later to South 1st Street. We will pass over and under railroad tracks and drive by many small local businesses and some national chains as well. This is rather slow travel since we will be stopping at many red lights along the way. We will end the drive as we pass by Angelina College and the Naranjo Museum Natural History. Lufkin is not only the largest city in Angelina County, but is also the county seat. There are about 35,000 people who call this city home.
