My 2 New Cars in a Day? Did I LEASE OR BUY, or both?

So after much research, I did 2 car deals on the same day, one for my personal car and one for our family car. Find out what I got and how I did it, I also found a new used car buying tip that I think you should know. So should I buy a new or used car was one of my first questions, I found the answer to that part quite quickly - I would really only ever buy used but lease new. Car buying in 2021 is certainly a little different than it used to be with used car prices going up and home delivery now much more common.

Buying a used car was more problematic than I thought, from timing chain and VANOS issues on BWM's, diesel issues with Audi's and a general lack of good AWD options it became a bit of a chore. Buying or leasing a car for the family car was a big decision too and with used prices going through the roof it didn't make it any easier. We all want the best family car available but it's not easy when money gets in the way! I decided to buy my car online and get it delivered to my house, if I don't like it I can send it back - I did a ton of background checks too, as you might expect from me! Buying a used car is always a risk but do as much research and as many history checks as you can to try and ensure it all goes ok for you.

!!Spoiler Alert!! I got a really good used BMW 420i Gran Coupe M-Sport (Bmw F32) for my persona car and guess what, we renewed the lease on the VW Touran for another year at an amazing price.

There will be loads of content on the BMW 4 Series in coming months including my attempt to code some new functionality into the car myself...yikes!!!!

I hope you enjoy this one, please remember to give it the big thumbs up. #usedbmw #usedcars #ukcarscene #carleasing

Thanks for this channel. I am finding it really informative. I didn't know much about leasing or financing and you have helped a lot. You have certainly earned a thumbs and subscription.

Many thanks. Very good informative post. I would be interested in a video going through a selection process and what to look for because there is a lot of good information here. Thanks again.

Love this video format. Really interesting to see exactly what the thought process is of someone who knows what they are doing - especially when it comes to exciting cars around this realistic price range (the kind of cars that people are realistically going to want to buy/ lease). Great stuff mate

Excellent video once again.
I like the way you analyse things.
We also lease 1 car and own a 2nd.
Considering selling 2nd car whilst price is high as you have suggested in previous video. Then lease a replacement but as you also mentioned finding a lease is very difficult at minute.
Keeping up the good work and enjoy your BMW .x Drive and all weather tyres essential on bmw

Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres would probably be your best bet. I had the original CrossClimate tyres on my 520d and they worked very well indeed. Cracking deal on the Touran.

A year ago, those 4 series BMW as a pre-reg new car was £25k so at present that price is really expensive in my view. Absolutely the best decision to keep the VW on lease for another year.

I thought leasing would be better than forking £20k .shocked but good luck 😉
Also I’ve previously bought a new car at £52k and got fed up losing money.sold it after a year for £43k only to find out a few months later it had gained another £4k .
Driving a £5k scirocco now for past year and itching for something else but my days of buying with a huge chunk of cash are over.

The extended lease on the Touran is a great way to go at a decent price.
I was convinced that you would have opted for an Audi as your business vehicle but the BMW looks very impressive. I would definitely have one. The rear number plate seems to be set at a jaunty angle, hope that is going to be rectified? 😉
Fascinated to see if the dealer promises actually square up to the reality. The thought of buying a secondhand vehicle unseen would worry me but I guess that a no quibble 14 day return does inspire there any sneaky 'small print' to consider?

Nicely done with both cars Jim 👍 That was a great deal on the lease, and I reckon the Beemer’s number plate is worth a few bob 🤔
I used the Amazon link on Saturday, but I ballsed the payment details up and had to do it again. I’m glad Amazon registered your link despite my ineptitude 😆

Just noticed a little egg in this video that was a clue as to why that dealer was so bad! As you were flicking through the pics of the BMW you bought I noticed that dealer had a 1/5 star rating 😂 only one review but not a good image for that dealer....not that they care. On the diesel's I have always had one due to doing high millage and like to look after my car's weather it be a vauxhall or my now 435... Full service once a year and oil and filter change Inbetween. Think another huge thing with diesel's apart from the servicing is how the're driven...how far the're driven and how often....but again like I and you have said you still need that bit of luck 😂

have you considered going electric ? E-niro ? Ioniq 5 ? I am on the lookout for these

get her remapped as that engine is mostly the same as what's in the 428i just detuned, goes from 185 - 265bhp

BMW looks sound...unlucky if you get a problem with long service intervals with todays synthetic oil.Looking at a 440i but wouldn't ignore a 420 and they tend to not be as hard

Hi Jim, Purchased 3 items via your amazon link on Saturday. Did it work ? It took me to my own personal Amazon login, is that ok ?

Help! I have been trying for a sport transit style crew cab, or a transporter (knowing the ease you can walk into and away with a transit, without being the key owner).
( Building construction manager so witnessed a few work vans vanish in day light!)
Double seats up front with twin sliding doors, not a complete over the top trim or speakers on exhausts, but smart and simple..
But I am not a business for vat so is an issue. 👎
What advise would you have?
Thanks in advance
